About us!

Thanks for dropping by:

We thank you for taking the time to learn more about GHP. Over the next few minutes, you will learn about our community, history, structure, and what makes us truly unique in a world of faceless gaming communities out there.

A Unique Gaming Community Based on Values and Beliefs That Encourage Having Fun and Learning!

GHP is unlike any community you've ever experienced before. We are a proud community of friends and gamers first and foremost, an open gaming organization that values each member for his or her attitude and friendly traits, a community that encourages each member to learn new skills and improve their gaming performance and a rare team that focuses on the attitude of each member and does not recruit based on gaming skills. GHP has operated continuously since our founding in March of 2006, making us one of a rare breed of teams that has existed for many years with stability and persistence. We offer to our members a fun environment with the structure and resources necessary to ensure permanence and smooth operations. In short, we are what we believe a true gaming community should be: mature, open, fun, focused, and long-lasting.

Maturity and Professionalism

Each member of GHP, as both a mature individual and a public ambassador of our team, is expected to maintain a certain level of professional conduct while they are part of our team. These standards ensure that the team is not damaged by improper conduct and that each member develops as a person in a manner that is consistent with our values.

Please Limit Profanity and NO Abusive Language: The use of profanity in public communications or towards other team members indicates a lack of core professionalism and a tendency towards improper emotional outbursts not suited for our community. Although the occasional “ah shit” is okay. The repeated use of profanity in it’s worst form is strongly discouraged.

No Questionable Behavior: Any team member who engages in behavior that actually or potentially tarnishes the name and image of the team is a liability to the entire community and will not be tolerated. Zero-Tolerance for Cheating and Hacking: Cheating and hacking is a scourge on the greater gaming community, so any use of any cheats or hacks either as an experiment or in actual game-play demonstrates a lack of professional values and damages our community. We cooperate fully with anti-cheating organizations and are a self-policing organization.

Professional, Mature Attitudes and Demeanor: We expect that all members will treat all other members and the general public in a manner that will bring us pride. We seek those who are like-minded in their demeanor and possess an attitude of cooperation and personal discipline.

Entertainment Above Business

We all want to be able to sit down and just have a good time when we play together without the fuss and annoyance of dealing with administrative headaches and politics. So at GHP, entertainment is at the core of our playing atmosphere. It is why we play the games in the first place. To pursue this goal, responsibilities for management are divided in a manner that strives to minimize stress for asmany people as possible. Anyone who can take on a piece of the responsibility is encouraged to do so, so we all can relax and enjoy a good time gaming.

A Community, Not a Clan....

If you've been reading closely, you've probably noticed that we do not refer to ourselves as a clan. A gaming clan is a group of players, usually centered around a central leader, who focus on a specific game and are often short-lived. They usually are social cliques based on a cult of personality and an unrealistic goal of being "the best" or the "most elite" clan in the game they play.

At GHP, we make every effort to educate people about the differences between traditional clans and our community. As a team, we are a diverse group of individuals who work together to achieve the type of gaming community we want to have. We are involved in multiple games and have focused on member participation and having fun.. By making this distinction, you can understand how we are different from all of the different clans out there, so the name "clan" is not fitting.

GHP offers both a fulfilling and relaxed playing style for less competitively-minded players and a well-organized and intense curriculum for those who want to play matches regularly and be the best they can be. It is a difficult balance for any community to maintain -- to satisfy competitive players and not alienate less formal players, or vice versa -- but we strive to achieve the best of both worlds. Our community-focused players make the foundation of our community, so our competitive aspirations always come second (although no less important to any of us! This allows us to enjoy our gaming whether we win or lose in the competitions (though we do give 'em hell when team pride is on the line!) so there is a less demanding atmosphere than other teams which are specifically formed to win competitions exclusively.

A Haven for Friendly Non-Competitive Players

As the bedrock of our community, our non-competitive players are immensely important to us. On nights when our servers are full of players, the games are intense and incredibly fun. This is what gaming is all about, and we at GHP strive to keep our community-minded gaming component as healthy as possible. All of our players are welcomed and encouraged to start big games on the public servers and to play together. The teamwork displayed by our players is an incredible showing of the overall health of the team. A Persistent Team with Clear Organization and Leadership.

Very few teams today have the historical longevity that GHP has, and this did not come about by accident. Stable and strong structure and leadership have created the conditions necessary for the team to grow and to thrive. A group of devoted leaders from all over the country have been the guiding hand that has helped the team survive and progress through good times and bad. Old leaders have left, New leaders have stepped up, but the team has persisted and continues to excel. Although the team has evolved over time, we still continue to maintain this incredible community that reflects the values we hold dear.

Voluntary Donations Keep the Servers Running

None of these servers are free, and the team constantly relies on the generous contributions of its ordinary members to keep the servers online. All members can (and are encouraged to) donate to one of our server funds. Members may contribute using PayPal, or in some cases, by mail. Unlike some other teams, we do not charge a membership fee. The servers are paid for in whole by voluntary donations from our members and ADMINS.
